I go into service centre and it still says my traktor is not activated and asks me for the serial number and activation key. I go back to the article you sent me the link to and I just seem to.

Sep 13, 2016 So all you need to do is to import an older collection (use the latest one before the 'deletion date'), this will also bring back any playlist that you had at the time the backup was created. This article describes in detail how to import an older collection: TRAKTOR PRO 2: Importing A Backup Collection.

Smart playlists – playlists that auto-fill with tracks based on a set of rules – are a great feature of both iTunes and other DJ software, but do not feature at all in Traktor Pro 2 natively.

But you can have custom auto playlists of a sort in Traktor. This means – for instance – that you can keep warm-up, main set and backroom tracks apart, and whenever you add new tracks to your library, as long as you tag them as such, the playlists will reflect that.

It takes a little bit of work, but it’s actually really easy – so watch the video to discover how to do it.

Hopefully Traktor Pro 3, when it arrives, will bring Traktor up to speed with other DJ software – but for now, here’s a stop gap trick for you.

Digital DJ Tips reader Stefan has a problem that can occur with lots of DJ controllers. He writes: “I have the Numark Mixtrack Pro and I do a weekly live mix on Mixify and I want to be able to speak via a microphone which is plugged into my Mixtrack Pro. I am having problems with the microphone input on my Mixtrack Pro, the microphone is not getting picked up by Traktor. What can I do?”

Digital DJ Tips says:

The microphone on the Mixtrack Pro is not fed to your computer or your DJ software at all. It’s simply routed straight to the outputs at the back of the unit, and so while the mic sound does comes out of your speakers, it won’t be present on your broadcast feed, as you’ve found out.

The easiest way to get around this would be to plug the output of your Mixtrack Pro into another laptop as an input, and broadcast from that. It is sometimes possible to feed the output of your DJ controller back into the same laptop in this way to save you using two, but it’s not simple to do.

Have you faced the issue of trying to get your DJ controller to feed external inputs into your software, for broadcasting or other reasons? How have you got round it, and have you had to use extra software or cables to do so? Please share your thoughts in the comments.
